What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Junior Credit Risk Modeller. The MDM team supports the bank with modelling activities and as a Junior Credit Risk Modeller you will work with senior team members who will help you building models. You will broad range of stakeholders outside the team, including the model owner (CRCU), the data team and the model validation team.

Which team will you be joining?

As a Junior Credit Risk Modeller you will be part of the Model Development and Monitoring (MDM) team, of 12 young professionals. The team is a diverse international team working mostly on credit risk models (AIRB and IFRS9) but also other models like fraud risk and stress and scenario testing.

Your accountabilities

  • Apply advanced statistical/technical methods in the development of credit risk models.

  • Support to ensure a reliable infrastructure, including models, data, control environment and compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

  • Use up-to-date model development standards and processes and ability to develop these further.

  • Build and manage effective relationships with colleagues in the wider Risk team and across partnering business functions (such as CRCU and validation functions, Finance, Customer Analytics and Risk Infrastructure)  .

  • Work pro-actively with IT and operational areas to drive forward and mitigate issues in the implementation and use of the models

Who are you and what do we ask from you?

Qualifications

  • You have a Masters’ degree in a relevant subject (econometrics, statistics, mathematics, engineering)

Experience & Knowledge

  • You are experienced in the credit risk modelling domain, either in a working position or an internship;
  • You have experience with programming languages such as Python, R and SQL.
  • You have a basic understanding of regulatory requirements regarding internal models for retail credit risk - internal ratings based approach (IRB) - such as CRR, relevant EBA Regulatory technical standards and EBA Guidelines.

Skills & Capabilities

  • You have a highly analytical approach to problem solving;
  • You have the ability to get things done under pressure, a hands-on mentality and you are pro-active;
  • You have excellent English communication skills both verbal and in writing and ability to demonstrate these skills effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • You have the proven ability to work well within a team environment
  • You have proven data analytic skills
