BI Data Analyst

For our BI Data Team, we are looking for a BI Data Analyst with proven experience in complex data analysis, dimensional modelling, and translating business needs into robust technical solutions. A Day in the Life of a BI Data Analyst

As a BI Data Analyst at Lloyds Bank, your day starts by joining the daily stand-up with the BI Data teams to align on ongoing initiatives, development efforts and business priorities. You then dive into analysing business requirements and translating them into technical data needs, data model adjustments, or improvements to existing ETL processes. You start your afternoon by collaborating with stakeholders from Credit Risk, Finance, Marketing, and/or Operations to define new BI reports, assess report automation opportunities and communicate progress. Afternoons are focused on documentation, deep dive analysis and explorations of new initiatives. Your ability to clearly explain technical challenges and propose sustainable data solutions helps the bank stay agile and compliant.

The team

The Data Analyst Team is part of the wider Data function, supporting the bank with reliable, timely, and well-governed data. Our mission is to increase trust in our reporting landscape and enable consistent data delivery for steering and control.

We do this by:

  • Building relationships within the team in fostering cooperation and growth;
  • Collaborating closely with BI developers and Business users,  translating strategic Business requirements into concrete solutions;
  • Relying on our strong analytical background, combining it with the understanding of how Banks work, as well as solid stakeholder management;
  • Delivering actionable results to the top management, enabling well-informed decisions with a positive impact on the Bank;
  • Interacting successfully with the Group colleagues, Internal and External Audit and Supervisory Authorities;
  • Overseeing all phases of new solutions implementation;
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives for data products and processes.

  • Qualifications
    • University degree in a relevant subject (Business and information technology/Computer Science related studies);
    • Banking experience.
  • Capabilities
    • Highly analytical approach to problem solving;
    • Ability to convert complex problems and priority landscape into clear actions/decisions;
    • Hands-on mentality, proactive attitude and curiosity;
    • Attention to detail;
    • Ability to prioritise;
    • Good stakeholder management skills;
    • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
  • Experience & Knowledge
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in BI/Data Warehousing roles;
    • Proven experience in T-SQL using SSMS 2016+;
    • Knowledge of Kimball dimensional modelling and OLTP/OLAP design;
    • Experience in defining and documenting ETL mappings and data flows;
    • Familiarity with Power BI is a plus;
    • Strong understanding of business process reporting (Credit Risk, Finance, Ops).
