Your role

We may be part of a large banking Group, but we’re a small, tight-knit bank with a focused business model and a growing team. Within our Internal Statutory Audit team, we are looking to hire a (Senior) Audit Manager.

Your role as a (Senior) Audit Manager is critical in providing independent third line assurance over the control framework in place at Lloyds Bank GmbH. You would be responsible for providing input to the annual audit plan, developing and completing audit control testing, leading a team of auditors on individual audits and managing the delivery of reports to the Management Board.

A day in the life of a (Senior) Audit Manager

Morning
Upon arriving at the office, you review the audit framework and make necessary adjustments with the local management team.

Mid-Morning
You lead a team meeting to discuss the risk-based annual audit plan and collaborate on strategies. Then, you dive into performing audits on (Non) financial risk areas using Data Analytics tools.

Lunch
You enjoy lunch with colleagues, discussing industry trends and sharing laughs.

Afternoon
You consult with clients, providing auditing services and advice, issuing independent opinions, and making recommendations. You perform follow-up work on previous audits to assess the implementation of recommendations. You also review European banking regulations to ensure compliance.

End of Day
You prepare detailed reports, simplifying complex issues and recommending risk mitigation measures. You reflect on the day’s achievements and update your development plan.

Which team will you be joining?

The team is Internal Statutory Audit. We are responsible for providing independent third line challenge and oversight to the Management and Supervisory Boards regarding the effectiveness of the Lloyds Bank GmbH control framework. We currently have a team headcount of 8, made up of 1 Head of Audit, 4 Senior Audit Managers and 3 Audit Managers. There are currently 2 vacancies to fill. In this role you will be:

  • Continuously revisit and maintain the audit framework of the audit activities in the field of financial risk audits in close liaison with the local management team
  • Contribute in defining the risk based annual audit plan for financial risk audits
  • Provide auditing services and advice on managing risks, by performing audits and issuing independent opinions in the financial risk area as well as making the corresponding recommendations
  • Gain and apply a thorough understanding of audits and assigned functions, including utilization of technology and active usage of Data Analytics
  • Perform follow-up work on audits, assessing whether recommendations have been suitably implemented
  • Examine issues critically and objectively from an informed, balanced and risk-based perspective before making recommendations or reaching conclusions

You recognize yourself in this profile

Experience and Knowledge
  • Several years’ recent professional experience within an audit function of a bank or in consultancy in auditing financial risk management (e.g. Liquidity and Funding Risk, IRRBB, capital management and recovery planning) or non-financial risks (e.g. Compliance, Regulatory, AML, Conduct, Operational)
  • In-depth knowledge of European regulations of the banking industry and their implementation in banks
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills, including the ability to simplify issues, identify root causes, provide new insights and recommend risk mitigation measures
  • A proven ability to effectively communicate risks and complex issues to management and increase acceptance of the findings
  • Relevant Audit qualification (e.g. CIA or CFSA) is a big plus
  • Embraces a hands-on mentality and proactively tackles challenges
  • Very good communication skills in verbal and written English. Good German is a plus
Qualifications
Recognised university degree (preferably in maths, economics, econometrics, business administration) with a track record of continuous development
