What are we looking for?

As our new Treasury Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting Treasury functions. Data-driven analysis, insights and recommendations will contribute to optimise our Treasury management and strategies to challenging business activity, markets, risk appetite, regulations and other factors. Business reporting and statistical analytical skills are required to comprehend local systems and translate data insights into actionable recommendations for senior management and stakeholders; improving financial decision making.

Additionally, this role supports strategic projects, working with other teams on Treasury initiatives. All in close cooperation with colleagues in the Treasury team, as well as collaborating with other business functions, such as Risk Management & Controlling, Finance and Marketing.

Which team will you be joining?

A bank within a bank. The principal role of the bank treasury function is to manage Liquidity and Interest Rate risk; deploying Capital, Funding and ALM strategies in order to do so. The Treasury team is also responsible for balancing and managing the daily cash flow and liquidity of funds within the bank. The team also supervises outsourced processes and work in close cooperation with the Group Corporate Treasury (GCT) department of LBG in London.

Within the role of Treasury Manager you report to the Head of Treasury.

Your accountabilities

The role will involve executing the tasks as described below, with a focus on one or more of the areas.

Liquidity Management: Treasury ensures all financial obligations can be met at all times. The role involves:

  • Monitoring and forecasting GmbH’s liquidity.
  • Performing review for Liquidity Contingency Plan, Liquidity Policy, ILAAP and other policy and governance documents.
  • Acting as the Liquidity expert in key regulations and regulatory metrics.
  • Facilitating liquidity risks assessments on new business proposals and changes on Terms & Conditions for existing products..
  • Providing Liquidity inputs for internal and external auditors.
  • Overseeing the Liquidity Stress Testing model as outsourced to GCT.
  • Participating in the development of all liquidity related models and initiating continuous improvement ideas.

Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) management: Treasury governs how funding is contributing to overall profitability of the bank. The role involves:

  • Implementing the FTP methodology for GmbH providing expert knowledge about necessary deviations from the Group approach due to local characteristics and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring and maintaining the local FTP methodology by hosting regular meetings with main stakeholders to provide update in Liquidity Transfer Pricing (LTP) topics.
  • Forecasting and steering GmbH funding position and expected cost of funding.

Cash Management: Treasury executes all cash management activities for the bank. The role involves:

  • Support to Cash Managers in the management of all the operational and settlement accounts.
  • Managing intraday liquidity and planning short term liquidity with robust processes and controls.

Project Management: Treasury participates in Strategic projects. The role involves:

  • Participating in change projects for Treasury initiatives.
  • Contributing in ad hoc business/department projects such as bank on-boarding, account opening, mandate management, etc.
  • Delivering and implementing the Treasury Management System (Treasury DataMart).

Who are you and what do we ask from you?

For this role its essential to have the following knowledge, experience and skills:

  • You have 2+ years of Treasury experience
  • You have a degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics or Science
  • You have a strong understanding of Bank business models and the role of Treasury
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven analytical abilities; strong will to understand processes in related departments as the role will include representing them in case of absence.
  • You have the proven capability of decision making with the ability to demonstrate sound judgement and use appropriate analysis and data to inform decision making
  • You have a dynamic and flexible approach with an ability to manage competing priorities

There are also a few desirable skills that will make this role the perfect match for you:

  • You have an understanding of EU and German regulations, in particular MaRisk and CRR
  • Within your experience you required skills in financial management, controlling and reporting
  • A preference for prior experience of management reporting, planning / forecasting and decision support
