We may be part of a large banking Group, but we’re a small, tight-knit bank with a focused business model and a growing team. Within our Integrated Risk Management team, we are looking to hire a Financial Risk Manager.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a forward-thinking and analytically sharp Financial Risk Manager to help shape the future of our corporate lending business as we prepare for direct supervision by the European Central Bank (ECB). This is a unique opportunity to be part of a strategic build-out from the ground up—designing, implementing, and refining risk frameworks that will underpin a robust, compliant, and high-performing lending portfolio across the EU. We’re looking for someone who is not only fluent in financial risks and regulatory expectations, but also thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment where innovation and precision go hand in hand. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring our risk culture is strong, our exposures are well understood, and our lending decisions are both commercially sound and regulator-ready.
A Day in the Life of a Financial Risk Manager
As a Financial Risk Manager supporting our corporate lending portfolio in the EU, your day is a dynamic blend of strategic analysis, regulatory alignment, cross-functional collaboration and even data analytics and modelling insights. You start your day with a review of macroeconomic indicators, ECB updates, and sector-specific news that could impact credit exposures. You join a short team huddle to align on key risk developments and portfolio performance.
You work with compliance to ensure the portfolio’s risk models and collateral valuation practices meet IRB and Pillar 2 expectations. Over lunch, you attend a virtual seminar on ESG risk integration in credit portfolios, staying ahead of evolving regulatory and market expectations. Your afternoon starts with a meeting with Relationship Managers, Credit Analysts and Treasury to refine risk-adjusted pricing models and discuss funding options for upcoming deals. Well into the afternoon, you decide to liaise with the Legal team to ensure enforceability of collateral under EU jurisdiction.
Before the day ends, you run a scenario analysis simulating a 200 bps interest rate hike and its impact on the Bank’s NII and MV sensitivities and potential impact to capital requirements and prepare a summary for senior management. You close the day by documenting key insights, update risk dashboards, and plan tomorrow’s focus: a deep dive into real estate exposures and upcoming ECB thematic reviews.
