Your role
We are seeking a Strategy Manager to support the ongoing development of our business strategy and digital product portfolio. In this pivotal role, you will help to define and influence the organization’s long-term strategic direction and priorities, working closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams. You will also support the implementation of key strategic projects, applying rigorous data analysis and critical reasoning to inform decision-making and deliver impactful results across the organization.
A Day in the Life of a Strategy Manager
09:00 - Market & competitor scan
Review trends and signals; flag implications for the digital product portfolio.
09:30 - Team stand-up (Amsterdam/Berlin)
Align priorities, share progress, and clarify today’s deliverables.
10:00 - Deep-dive analysis
Build Excel models to size P&L impact, costs, and revenue drivers; extract insights.
11:30 - Business case & slides
Draft a clear, data-backed narrative for senior stakeholders and the Executive Board.
13:30 - Cross-functional session
Work with Finance, Marketing, IT, and Risk to align the roadmap and implementation steps.
15:30 - Executive review prep
Refine the storyline, validate numbers, and anticipate stakeholder questions.
16:30 - Forward-looking scan
Explore emerging tech in financial services; capture opportunities and risks.
17:00 - Wrap-up
Share outputs with the Head of Strategy and update trackers for the next day.

Key Accountabilities
Business Strategy
-
Support and advise the Head of Strategy in the ongoing development of the business strategy and digital product portfolio.

Play a pivotal role in defining and influencing the organization’s long-term strategic direction and priorities.
-
Contribute to review and control activities throughout the strategic planning process, as well as proactively identifying and recommending process improvements.
Strategic Initiatives and Growth Projects
-
Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of high-quality presentations and documentation for the Executive Board and senior stakeholders.

Independently conduct and present market, competitor, and trend analyses with the ability to analyse data, draw strategic insights, and communicate findings effectively.

Develop business cases (including financials) for new products and product enhancements.

Collaborate directly with various departments, particularly Finance, Marketing, IT, and Risk.

Participate in implementation projects
Key Capabilities
Experience & Knowledge
-
Previous experience within Strategy, Consulting or the Banking sector. Very good understanding of banking products required
-
Strong understanding of a bank’s balance sheet, P&L, and the key drivers of costs and revenues.

Affinity for new technological developments in the financial services sector

Proven expertise in applying strategic analysis methods to inform decision making
Qualifications
Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, or Finance.
Skills & Capabilities

Structured, methodical way of working

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to communicate effectively with various types of stakeholders

Advanced handling of MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel

Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in German or Dutch is a strong plus
