Your role
As a Business Data Analyst, you operate at the intersection of business, data and governance. You ensure that Corporate Banking data is accurate, well‑defined and fit for purpose, while actively using that data to support analysis, reporting and strategic decision‑making.
You take ownership of the Corporate First Line Data Domain from a business perspective and work closely with Corporate Banking stakeholders, central Data Governance teams and IT partners.
Become part of Lloyds Bank
At Lloyds Bank, colleagues and customers come first. We are proud to be a truly international organisation with 50+ nationalities, working together in an open, supportive and inclusive culture.
We are looking for an experienced Business Data Analyst to support our Corporate Banking business during an exciting phase of portfolio development and growth. In this role, you will work closely with the business, ensure high‑quality data, and help shape how data is used for analysis, reporting and decision‑making.
If you enjoy working close to the business, taking ownership, and improving structures hands‑on, we would be delighted to meet you.
Which team will you be joining?
You’ll join a close‑knit Corporate Banking team of around eight colleagues, working together in an international and collaborative environment. The team includes a Relationship Manager, a KYC & Financial Crime Risk Manager and a Credit Analyst, with whom you work closely on a daily basis.
We value short lines, shared ownership and strong collaboration. Decisions are made together, and you’ll see the direct impact of your work on the business.
A day in the life of a Business Data Analyst
08:45 – Start of the day
You start your day by checking dashboards and overnight data quality alerts related to the Corporate Banking portfolio. A small inconsistency catches your eye, so you quickly assess whether it has any impact on reporting or business decision‑making.
09:30 – Data quality & controls check
You run additional data‑quality checks within the Corporate Data Domain and identify the root cause of the issue. You document your findings and prepare to align with IT and the business on next steps.
10:30 – Stakeholder alignment
You meet with Corporate Banking colleagues (Relationship Manager, Credit Analyst) to discuss how the data is currently being used and whether definitions or business rules need clarification. Together, you agree on corrective actions and ownership.
11:30 – Root cause analysis & coordination
You connect with IT and Data Governance colleagues to align on data flows, interfaces and required fixes. You ensure actions are clearly assigned and tracked, keeping the business impact front and centre.
12:30 – Lunch break
Time to step away from the screen, catch up with colleagues or recharge before the afternoon.
13:15 – Data analysis & insights
You analyse client, product or risk data to support a business question. You identify a trend that could be relevant for portfolio monitoring and prepare a short insight to share with stakeholders.
14:30 – Dashboards & reporting
You enhance an existing Power BI dashboard, refine reporting logic and improve documentation of definitions and assumptions. Where possible, you automate recurring analyses to improve efficiency and scalability.
15:45 – Project & change support
You support a project or change initiative by reviewing data requirements, validating definitions and ensuring alignment with data standards. You act as the main point of contact for data‑related questions.
16:45 – Documentation & governance
You update data flow documentation, key data element definitions and business rules. You align changes with central Data Governance teams to ensure consistency across the bank.
17:30 – Wrap‑up
You review outstanding actions, update stakeholders where needed and prepare priorities for the next day, knowing your work directly supports better decision‑making within Corporate Banking.
