Relationship Manager Corporate Banking

  • 32 to 40 hrs
  • Hybrid working
  • Amsterdam/Berlin

Your role

We are expanding our Corporate Banking footprint and looking for a Relationship Manager who can help us grow the Dutch corporate client portfolio significantly over the coming years. This role exists because our book is growing and new EU regulations require that certain activities are performed from Amsterdam rather than London, making this position an essential part of our future strategy.

As a Relationship Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for a broad range of corporate clients. You build long-term relationships, identify opportunities, and bring in new business. We’re looking for someone who is confident in front of clients, has a strong network, and enjoys opening doors, but who is not yet at an overly senior or specialised level. The ideal candidate has cross-sector corporate banking experience, rather than focusing on a single industry.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to grow with us, work closely with our UK colleagues, and help us strengthen and expand our presence in the German and Dutch Corporate market.

Which team will you be joining?

You’ll join a close-knit Corporate Banking team of around eight colleagues, including a Relationship Manager (you), a KYC and Financial Crime Risk Manager and a Credit Analyst you work with daily. Short lines, shared ownership and strong collaboration are key to how we work.

A day in the life of a Relationship Manager

08:45 – Market scan & portfolio review
You start your day reviewing your portfolio and scanning the market for potential new corporate clients.

09:30 – Call with UK colleagues
You join a coordination call with the UK team to align on transitioning their current Dutch and German clients to Amsterdam or Berlin, due to regulatory shifts.

10:00 – Client onboarding & opportunity assessment
You review one of the ~50 existing UK-managed clients you will take over, identifying upsell opportunities and future growth potential.

11:30 – Prospecting & outreach
You reach out to potential clients across several industries, because you are not sector-limited, using your network and market insights to open conversations.

13:00 – Lunch with peers
You exchange insights with colleagues from Credit, KYC or Products to stay on top of internal processes and opportunities.

14:00 – Client meeting
You meet with a corporate CFO to understand their financing needs, discuss lending structures and explore opportunities for trade or other banking products.

15:30 – Internal alignment
You coordinate with KYC, Credit and Legal to ensure a smooth process for new or existing client requirements.

16:30 – Growth strategy planning
You spend time planning acquisition efforts, identifying leads, and mapping out how to expand the client base from 20–30 new large corporates over the coming years.
