Which team will you be joining?

The Corporate Lending Risk team sits within Risk Management & Controlling at Lloyds Bank GmbH, providing second-line oversight across the lending lifecycle, including origination, portfolio monitoring, ESG, model governance, risk appetite, and governance.

You will collaborate with Corporate Lending Risk, front office, Group Risk, Finance, Data, IT, Treasury, Compliance, other control functions, and specialist providers.

We are a collaborative, curious, and growing team that values the ability to connect policy, controls, data, portfolio behaviour, and regulatory expectations.

What are we looking for?

You are a risk, controls, audit, governance, data, or transformation professional who brings structure, curiosity, and practical follow-through to complex banking activities. You understand that effective second-line oversight requires clear criteria, reliable evidence, meaningful reporting, constructive challenge, and timely escalation.

You enjoy joining the dots between controls, processes, data, technology, suppliers, and stakeholder responsibilities. You can translate requirements into practical monitoring and reporting, identify where activities are not working as intended, and support proportionate improvements.

You are comfortable working with data and digital tools. You do not need to be a data engineer or developer, but you can analyse information, understand data quality and lineage concepts, articulate requirements, and work with specialists to automate workflows, dashboards, controls, and evidence collection.

You are interested in responsible AI adoption and can identify practical use cases across risk documentation, control execution, monitoring, reporting, and knowledge management. You combine innovation with appropriate attention to governance, validation, confidentiality, and human oversight.

A day in the life of a Risk Control & Oversight Officer Corporate Lending

Your morning begins by reviewing oversight dashboards and control information, including control completion, actions, key risk indicators, data quality, policy adherence, and supplier performance. You identify exceptions requiring follow-up and distinguish isolated issues from recurring themes.

Later, you perform or support a thematic oversight review of a corporate lending process. You assess whether responsibilities and controls are operating as intended, document evidence and findings, discuss them with stakeholders, and track agreed remediation through to closure.

Before lunch, you prepare a service review for a risk-relevant third-party provider. You consolidate performance and control information, follow up on open actions, highlight dependencies, and escalate matters that may affect the quality or continuity of risk management activities.

In the afternoon, you support the introduction of a new lending product by developing the required control inventory, oversight reporting, data quality checks, workflow, and implementation tracking. You then use automation or AI-enabled tools to simplify a recurring governance activity and improve the reliability of management information.

Who are you and what do we ask from you?

  • 3–5 years of experience in risk management, controls, audit, compliance, governance, credit risk, third-party risk, data, transformation, or a related banking function.

  • Experience supporting controls, action tracking, committee materials, service reviews, oversight reports, or risk documentation.

  • Experience using data analytics, reporting, workflow automation, or low-code tools (e.g. Power BI, Power Automate, Python, SQL, Databricks, Alteryx, or similar).

  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities, with interest in the responsible use of AI within financial services.

  • Interest in developing deeper knowledge of corporate lending and credit risk, with the potential to broaden into other financial risk topics over time.

  • Experience in an ECB-supervised banking environment is highly desirable.

  • Ability to engage constructively with first line, second line, Group, Finance, IT, Data, and senior stakeholders.

  • Fluency in English required; German and/or Dutch is an advantage.

Some highlights of our benefits for you!

  • 13th-month salary, either paid monthly or once a year in December.
  • 30 days PTO (or 240 hours) per year (based on full-time employment).
  • Non-contributory pension scheme.
  • Flexible working; you can schedule your work hours to meet your personal needs.
