Your role
At Lloyds we have a wide range of models such as Credit Risk models (IRB/IFRS9/Application/Fraud) as well as Stress testing and Economic Capital models. As a Senior Model Developer you will be owning the development and monitoring cycle for a subset of these models. You get to work on multiple risk models primarily across key retail portfolios, and you support on the methodology, internal policies and drive efficiency enhancements in the development and monitoring cycles. This way you make an impact and gain a good overview of the bank and the various products it offers in the Dutch and German markets.
A day in the life of a Credit Risk Modeller
Wednesday is the office day, everyone from the Amsterdam office is on location. You start with an update meeting on the project you are working on, with the different team members. Afterwards there is the stand-up with the whole team to track progress on the different projects, exchange knowledge and align priorities. You then focus on the monitoring approach for IFRS 9 models and see how we can standardize our monitoring processes and Data Quality controls.
It is time for lunch, if the weather is good this involves a walk outside. After lunch, you’ll discuss developments in the Dutch and German mortgage markets with key stakeholders in product management and credit risk teams as an input for the model monitoring exercises. After this, you’ll have the time to review work performed by other team members on the most recent Scorecard development.
Which team will you be joining?
As a Senior Credit Risk Modeller you will be part of the Model Development and Monitoring (MDM) team of 13 professionals. The team is a diverse international team based in Amsterdam, Berlin and Warsaw, working mostly on credit risk models (AIRB and IFRS9) but also other models like application, fraud risk, stress testing and economic capital for credit risk.
The team works in a hybrid way: mostly from home, with Wednesdays as our regular office day. The office is always open, and many of us drop by more often for collaboration and catch-ups.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Senior Credit Risk Modeller. In this role you take responsibility for development and monitoring trajectories, ensure regulatory compliance of IRB and IFRS 9 models, advice on modelling choices, dealing with omissions or lack of data (for newer products) and ensure models meet the needs of the end users. Also, you have a curiosity in working on new models and contribute to improving on the way of working.
